The necessary evil of financial management

Owners of start up, small and mid-sized companies face many hurdles, including creating and maintaining financial management systems and accounting departments. Until now, many companies had limited choices and either ignored the issue or spent an inordinate amount of time trying to learn and administer accounting software instead of focusing on their core mission and business. They often view the bookkeeping and accounting function as a necessary evil, rather than an important informational tool to better manage their business.

Complexity vs. Essential Business Tools

To properly manage any business, management requires accurate, timely financial information. In recent years, bookkeeping and accounting software for small and mid-size businesses and individuals has become highly functional and inexpensive. The success of Quicken and QuickBooks software is a testimony to the demand and acceptance of these products. While these products are billed as easy to use and a solution for many businesses and individual's bookkeeping problems, they still require substantial training and knowledge to operate properly. Many companies lack the financial or personnel resources to use even the simplest of accounting and bookkeeping software effectively.

Do not ignore the foundation of your business

Today there are literally millions of small to mid-size businesses that are either ignoring their financial systems, can't find and retain competent bookkeeping and accounting help, are generating inaccurate or no financial reports at all, or are overpaying for an inadequate financial product.
